German philosopher and essayist Walter Benjamin wrote that work on a good piece of writing happens on three levels: a musical one, an architectural one, and a textile one. Navigating these levels can leave even an experienced writer identifying with Dante on his trip through Hell. A writing coach, then, is Virgil: your personal companion who explains, in-depth and candidly, each new level of “Hell” and, ultimately, how to escape.
No matter your project or goal, I can help you evaluate and elevate your writing abilities. As your writing coach, I promise to be your most honest and compassionate critic, your friend and cheerleader, and an enthusiastic consultant during your writing process.
Go on, send me an e-mail—it doesn’t cost anything to see if I’m a good fit for what you need. Tell me what you’re working on and what you want from a writing coach, and from there we can discuss how I can be of service to you.
In general, this is what I offer, either as standalone services, or combined with one another:
Support and Clarity Services: This is a “long-term relationship” option. I recommend meeting via Zoom once or twice each week to discuss short-term projects (like academic papers) or one to four times a month for long-term projects (like novels, theses, and other longer documents).
Personalized Workshops: These run according to your specific needs.
“Red Ink” Sessions: A down-and-dirty assessment of a project for people who want more than an editor or proofreader, but don’t necessarily want to commit to multiple sessions or a particular schedule. In a “Red Ink” session, I suggest edits, provide comments, and analyze in-depth a piece of your writing via Google Docs. Particularly useful for more experienced writers, but anyone can benefit.
If you have other ideas or needs, let me know, and we can see what we can work out. The best feeling in the world for me is seeing someone’s writing evolve and the confidence that comes with that evolution.
Shoot me an e-mail here! I can’t wait to work with you!
